Difference between the Telegram Desktop Versions
Telegram Desktop is available in Apple's Mac Store (Link) as well as on telegram.org.
Difference between the two versions
- Mac Store version needs to be reviewed by Apple. Can take a week or even longer. So, no fast updates.
- Mac Store version does not offer a silent update function.
- Some functions are limited for sandboxed apps, all Mac Store apps are sandboxed.
Developer Version
If one would like to get all updates faster and be one of the first to test new features, one's welcome to use Telegram Desktop's dev version instead of the public ones. The public version is updated less frequently, but is more stable than the dev version.
